Blessing of the Fleet

The annual boat parade and Blessing begin at 6:00 pm in the village harbor

The commercial and charter fishing fleet based in Hatteras village is the core that unites the seven Hatteras Island villages.

Every island family has current and/or historic ties to the industry and its supporting businesses and the island communities gather once a year in solemn prayer for their safety at sea and their successful catches.
