If  water activities are what you are looking for to highlight your vacation, then look no further than Hatteras Village. We have it all!  While the warmer months may offer a greater variety of activities, there is not a season when you can not find plenty to do on the water.

  Sound
Pamlico Sound is one of the world's largest inland bodies of water separated from the Atlantic Ocean by barrier islands of North Carolina known as the Outer Banks.  It is the second largest estuary in the United States.  This estuary provides habitats for a large number of organisms and supports very high productivity.  Fish nurseries abound here and along the shoreline are varied waterfowl nesting sites.

The sound and bay adjacent to Hatteras Village provide for a miriad of activities.  This area is fringed with salt marshes with a host of  canals and waterways waiting to be explored.  It is the ideal setting for recreating, bird watching, fishing, crabbing, clamming, or just sitting along the shoreline and enjoying the sights and cool breezes.
