The Hatteras Village Waterfowl Festival will return for 2024 four our fourth festival with some of our favorite events and vendors as well as some new and exciting additions! This festival, in the beautiful village of Hatteras, celebrates the diverse waterfowl resource native to the island. It begins with an amazing "Fin, Feather and Bourbon" social on Friday evening, featuring small plates and local seafood. Selected bourbons are poured along with a selection of beers and wines that pair with the plates. During the day on Saturday, you will find carvers, artists, vendors and many demonstrations such as a live raptor show, a bird watching tour, a duck call competition and much, much more. All events on Saturday are free and open to the public. Tickets must be purchased for the "Fin, Feather and Bourbon" event are available until we reach our maximum capacity! Fin, Feather and Bourbon Social

Our festival will again kick off Friday evening with our unique and exciting social, the "Fin, Feather and Bourbon" event. Small plates featuring seafood and waterfowl, presented with exquisite artistry, are accompanied by select bourbons, wines and beer. Tickets for this event are limited and must be purchased in advance. There will be a silent auction of art and other items from vendors.

Hawk Manor Falconry

Hawk Manor Falconry makes its exciting return to the festival! Attendees will have an interactive experience with birds of prey, learn the history of falconry and also enjoy flight demonstrations and a simulated "hunt". These amazing birds and handlers "wowed" the crowd in the past and surely the encore performance is not to be missed!

Guided Painting Workshop

Local artist Trish Dempsey returns for the 4th annual festival, leading eager and reluctant painters alike in our popular guided painting workshop. Open to all festival goers on a first come, first serve basis, participants will discover their artistic side and create a painting of this year's featured bird, the mallard. Sign up at the Information Booth. Painting Times are at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM at the Hatteras Community Building.

Duck Calling Competition

The Duck Calling Competition returns for 2024! Contestants must complete the registered form and submit registration prior to competing. Registration is available until the time the competition begins. Click on image for form. Forms can be submitted to the festival’s email, hatterasevents@yahoo.com, or to the festival information table prior to the competition.
