Daniel Pullen Art Show featuring

the Hatteras Fishermen Project

Hatteras, North Carolina (August 1, 2017) -  Talk of the Villages: Reflections on Fishing for a Living will take place on Friday, September 15, 2017, 6:30 p.m., at the Hatteras Village Community Building.   The Community Building is located between the post office and fire station on Highway 12 in Hatteras Village.

Acclaimed Hatteras Island photographer Daniel Pullen and the commercial fishermen he photographs will share stories about the photographs on exhibit and talk about fishing for a living.

Pullen began documenting the work and culture of Hatteras commercial fishermen in 2011.  Like the men and women he photographs, Pullen isn’t afraid of working long hours in uncomfortable conditions to make the perfect catch.  He once spent 19 hours on a gillnet boat to capture images of the winter croaker fishery off the Outer Banks.

Talk of the Villages: Fishing for a Living sponsors include the Hatteras Village Civic Association, North Carolina Sea Grant, North Carolina Watermen Foundation, and Outer Banks Catch.  The event is a Day at the Docks activity, open to the public at no charge.

Information about other Outer Banks Catch sponsored events and activities at Day at the Docks is available on the News page at  www.outerbankscatch.com.  Additional Information about Day at the Docks is available at http://hatterasonmymind.com/HVCA/DayAtTheDocks/.
